Our company, the ERU Hungária Cheese Manufacturing Ltd., was set up in 1995. Our main activity is manufacturing several types of processed cheese.
During the privatization at the time of the economic transition in the first half of the 1990s, there was a possibility to acquire the processed cheese factory of the Budapest Dairy PLC. (Budapest Tejipari Rt.) in Budafok. In addition to the site and the instruments, we also managed to obtain several brand names, which were very well-known and popular in the domestic market in Hungary. These brands were Mackó, Csárdás, Öcsi and Hóvirág among others.
The purchased factory resembled more a poorly developed manufacture than a factory; therefore we had to rebuild everything. A new state-of-the-art workshop was created between 1996 and 1999 which completely satisfies our manufacturing needs.
In addition to the buildings a new production line and technology were installed.
The innovation and expansion resulted in a capacity growth that we try to exploit not only in Hungary but abroad as well.
Today our products are available at almost every domestic retail chain.
The cheese types of ERU are delicious and have long life span owing to the excellent-quality raw materials and the manufacturing technology used. They are all widely known and preferred products that are essential ingredients of the households nowadays.
