The success story of ERU Company started in the Dutch town of Woerden in 1824 where the Ruys family - the name ERU also derives from their name - founded their first cheese trading company. For the 180 years since the foundation the small family enterprise has developed into an internationally recognised multinational company belonging to the first rank of processed cheese producers. ERU Hungária Kft. has also been an active participant of this success story since 1995.

After the demolition of the old Budafok Cheese Factory, a new, modern workshop was built in 1997, which completely satisfies the EU requirements that can be considered as the most modern cheese processing factory in the region. Owing to the modern technology - besides producing cheese in all forms that can be imagined - in cups, round boxes, slices, sausages and even in buckets - the factory is able to manufacture such products with a much longer shelf life than our competitors (min. half a year but one year for a lot of products).

In addition to the success of the products, the basis of the company's success is the attitude and professional qualification of the employees because their skills allowed for ERU to achieve the leading position among processed cheese producers by today.

The cheese types of ERU are delicious and rich in valuable nutrients owing to the natural and excellent-quality raw materials, without any kinds of artificial flavour or consistence improving materials. They are widely known and preferred products that are indispensable in the households of nowadays.

Besides developing the quality of the traditional Camping sausage cheese and Mackó cheese, ERU also introduced new products to the domestic market such as the Margaréta product family prepared with the addition of vegetable fat or the Flamenguito cheese products based on original Dutch recipes. As a result of the continuous development, traditional values have also been renewed and the Camping brand has also appeared in cups, round boxes and in sliced package forms.

The Company has been in the forefront of development until today. The products received new, attractive packing not long ago and as a result of the continuous examination of the consumers' needs, they also satisfy the changed needs by their internal content; they became more delicious, softer and they are easier to be spread. ERU has also developed the newly appearing Camping cheese in cup and the Camping Vitál sandwich cream in harmony with the changes of the requirements.

ERU also insures that such popular products can be easily accessed by both consumers and traders via the national-scale distribution system. In addition to the own products, the quality products of the Dutch parent company and the choice-enlarging products of other domestic producers have also appeared from 2003 in order to increase the efficiency of our national distribution network, to better serve small shops and to develop the cheese culture in the provinces. The Company sells its own products and the purchased cheese types to retail and wholesale traders, supermarkets and hypermarkets and to the catering business, mainly via its own distribution. ERU also produce private-label products to several partners in addition to the already known brands, for better exploiting the production capacities.
